Privacy

Last updated: 12 October 2026. Plain language, because the whole point of this tool is that your files stay yours.

The free browser tool

Images you convert at pixelsqueeze.dev are decoded, resized and re-encoded by your own browser. They are never transmitted to us. There is no upload endpoint in this product, which is why there is no file size limit. You can verify this: open your browser's developer tools, watch the Network tab while converting, then disconnect from the network entirely and convert again.

What we do collect

What we do not do

The API (private beta)

When you use the API, images must reach our servers to be processed. Inline requests are held in memory and discarded once the response is sent; we do not write them to disk. If you ask for stored variants (store=true), outputs live on our CDN for 30 days and you can delete them at any time or disable persistence on your key. EXIF data, including GPS coordinates, is stripped by default.

Every request is logged with its byte count, output format and status code for billing and debugging. Image contents are not logged.

Your rights

If you are in the EU, UK, Switzerland or California you have the right to access, correct, export or delete the personal data we hold about you — in practice, an email address and some log lines. Write to privacy@pixelsqueeze.dev and we will action it within 30 days. Our lawful basis for processing your email is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time; the basis for logs is legitimate interest in keeping the service up.

Email privacy@pixelsqueeze.dev. If anything on this page is inaccurate about how the software actually behaves, that is a bug and we want to know about it.
